Bang-Bang Salmon Burrito Bowl

I know we all love salmon. But you know I love to back things up with research!

Did you know that there is evidence that regular consumption of salmon can improve cardiovascular health and boost brain function?

But with so many different ways to prepare and eat salmon, how do you choose the best option?

That's where salmon bowls come in. It definitely helps that they’re a favourite in my family.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock (which, I’m jealous!!!), you would have come across the recent trend of bowls - delicious and nutritious meals with a combination of ingredients on a base of rice or other whole grains - as they have been gaining popularity. And unlike other fads (looking at you, Stanley mugs), this fad has caught on for good reason.

This recipe has come in clutch for me when we’re stumped on what to eat for dinner while being wary of the typically unhealthy takeout options. I would usually throw together whatever I have in the pantry or fridge to support the salmon (she’s the star of the dish). The Bang Bang sauce is so easy to make and more often than not, I have those 3 ingredients available anyway. That delicious combination of greek yogurt, Thai chili sauce and sriracha! So yum!

So, feel free to substitute as you please, but here’s the ‘standard’ recipe for my Bang Bang Salmon Bowl filled with wild rice, black or red kidney beans, avocados, tomatoes, corn, and a tangy lime cilantro sauce. This mouthwatering dish not only satisfies your taste buds but also provides so many health benefits. The flavour and nutritional benefits cannot be overstated. We’ve got grains, proteins, healthy fats, all in a delicious flavour combination. The line cilantro sauce provides a calming sensation when paired with the spiciness of the salmon and bang bang sauce.

Buckle up and get ready to learn how to create the ultimate Bang Bang Salmon Bowl!
