The Moscow Mule
One of the things I love most about the Moscow Mule is the mug! There’s just a certain cool retro vibe that comes with sipping a drink from those copper mugs. In fact, mine came with a pair of copper straws, so fab! Side note: We only use metal, bamboo, paper and silicone straws at home now, so the copper straws totally fit in with our budding environmental consciousness and sustainability interests.
The other thing I love about the Moscow Mule is the flavour! The spiciness of the ginger and the tanginess of the lime; and of course, the finesse and texture of the vodka. You have to be careful with this one, because the crushed ice combined with these flavours, mean that the refills are almost certainly a given.
For the mocktail option, simply replace the vodka with club soda.
Prep Time: 3 mins
yield: 2 glasses
Ingredients:
50 ml vodka (or club soda for the non-alcoholic option)
5 ml freshly squeezed lime juice
120 ml ginger beer
1 lime, cut into wedges
2 sprigs mint
Crushed ice
Instructions:
Fill a copper mug with crushed ice. Seriously, fill it. Don’t worry, there’ll be space for the drink :-)
Pour in the vodka and lime juice.
Fill the glass with ginger beer and gently swirl it with a spoon once to mix.
Garnish with a lime wedge and a sprig of mint
Enjoy your yummy drink!
